Photographs of children are especially enjoyable because of one thing, UNPREDICTABILITY. There is no way to know on any given day if a photo session of a child will be a pleasant experience or not. That's part of what makes it unique. It does help us greatly if you let us know if you have any ideas for your child's portrait. One element more than any other will make or break your child's protrait. That is planning what to wear. While cute, some clothes compete with attention in your professionally made portrait. Bright colors do exactly what they're intended to, attract attention. This DIS-tracts the eye away from the personality and lovely face of your child. Select clothing that is more "timeless" in appeal. Neutral colors like brown, burgandy, forest green, or gray will photograph best. Another excellent choice is white clothes, for a relaxed look with bare feet, a few matching toys, etc., on a white background. This will yield an image that can be enjoyed for many years, and will avoid the "dated" look.
