Basic Retouching: Corrective lighting can minimize the need for retouching, however a two dimensional portrait often reveals imperfections that aren't usually noticed. Such imperfections can be eliminated by retouching. All portraits include basic retouching to remove minor blemishes and softening around eyes. Complete Retouching: Available at $50 per half hour, usually $50-$75 per photograph and is recommended for the most finished look and for Wall Portraits of 11x14 or larger. We're always concerned about making you look as good as possible. Please inquire about retouching services and we will give our honest opinion when we see your actual portrait image.
Limited Copyright Release: Business Portraits The copyright law gives the photographer the exclusive rights to the photographs he/she creates. The original photographer is the only person allowed to make ANY additional copies of the photograph. This is stated in the Federal Copyright Laws. Quite honestly, this is how we make a living. In the case of portrait photographs (in either prints or digital), Craig Schmidt Professional Photography provides Limited Copyright Release as a condition of sale under the following guidelines: You may use completed photographs, in their original form, for such applications as business cards, ad layouts, newsletters, press releases, newspaper or trade journal columns or advertisements, business or personal website, or other similar mass media, without further compensation or notice to Craig Schmidt Photography. The above media may make copies of continuous toned prints in their original form for the purpose of screening, half-toning or display, in any quantity or distribution area, without further permission or compensation. This includes changing a color image to black & white. HOWEVER, under no circumstances are you allowed to ALTER the photographic image for such things as follows: You may NOT retouch the image, either by traditional or electronic means, (including the computer). You may NOT make alterations such as cutting out a head to insert in another image, nor are you allowed to insert other images or portions of other images into the photograph Whenever possible, including a photographer's credit line such as "Photo by Craig Schmidt" is appreciated. Since it's not appropriate many times, photo credit is therefore not required. Further, this copyright release does NOT cover the making of additional copies of photographs, on photographic paper, for any reason. If you need addtional originals for your files, contact our studio and we will make more copies for you, from the original electronic file, in the same high quality you have come to expect from Craig Schmidt Professional Photography.
